Historical records may soon be inaccessible. A large collection of documents, including those related to immigration, is at risk. Plans have been made to close certain National Archives sites.

These sites house a significant number of records, with one location containing over a million cubic feet of historical documents. Some of these documents are over 100 years old and include records of Native American boarding schools.

Further information about the planned closures and efforts to prevent them is available, including details about the involvement of congressional representatives.
